Solihull school children are being invited to follow in the footsteps of celebrities including Ali Bastian and Alesha Dixon and learn to cha-cha-cha.
RAW Talent Dance School runs a beginners dance class for children at the Village Hall in Dickens Heath on Saturday mornings, taught by former West-European dance champion Rebecca Wallace.
Children aged between four and 15 will be taught to foxtrot like Flavia and Viennese like Vincent whilst having fun and keeping fit.
The dance classes will take place from 10am-11.30am in blocks of six weeks. They follow recently publicised research which found that ballroom dancing helps to improve children’s behaviour, increase their interest in exercise, improve self-esteem and their ability to communicate and make friends with others.
Rebecca, director of the RAW talent dance school, comments:
“Since the launch of Strictly Come Dancing, the popularity of Latin American and Ballroom Dancing has soared. As well as being a really fun way to spend a Saturday morning, wannabe-Waltzers will get their heart rates racing as they learn a new, glamorous skill.”
Children will be taught the core dances seen on the BBC One programme, including the cha cha cha, samba, rumba, jive, waltz, tango foxtrot and quickstep.
The class runs from 10am-11.30am on Saturday mornings. Each six week course is priced at £30 for the term, or £6 a week. For more information contact Rebecca on 07854 910505/ hello@rawtalentdanceschool.co.uk or simply come along and have a go!
